West Church, Bangor
or Children's Talk

How often, children trying to please
their caring parents bring trouble upon themselves
or lead to their own disciplining.

I recall, in a Bangor church one Sunday a
children's talk of a land, far away
where Osman played Alexander's game
A child can for a moment paralyse a mother's face:
"my mummy's got Turkey in her freezer."

Thawing laughter, laughter thawing.

Displays of ignorance end an innocence
Where words are words that break no taboos;
strange, new ..
