I truly have no idea where,
when or by whom this photo was taken. But it's the only slightly
'arty' photo I could find to go with the poetry. Oh, by the
way, it isn't me. No really. It's actually my grandfather!
Spot the resemblance.

Out
of Ireland we have come;
Great hatred, little room,
Maimed us at the start.
- FSL Lyons
I haven't written any poetry
for a long time now. Some of you might consider this a
'good thing'. In fact, I have written one or two pieces
since I left University. Is this because I dried up, or
because
I have
been too
busy, or just become disengaged from what is going on around
me? Who can tell ... |
There
have been two areas which have stirred me to write most:
the beauty of the scenery of, and the conflict in Northern
Ireland, a province which I still call home, despite not
having lived there since 1991.
This
anthology is entitled Bullets among the Chalkdust and
refers obliquely to school violence, and the selection of works
that make up the anthology.
A selection of other works is
listed here. |
