List of members of the Royal Air Force killed as a result of terrorist activity in The Troubles in Northern Ireland from 1971 to the present day. 

                          1. May 1 1988: Senior Aircraftman Ian Shinner, 20, RAF, from
                           Winsford, Cheshire, shot by the IRA near his base in Roermund, Holland. He   was with two colleagues when they were attacked as they got into their car at
                           1am after drinking in the St George's bar. The other two were injured.
                           Believed to be a reprisal attack for SAS killing in Gibraltar of three IRA
                           members.

                           2. Fifteen minutes later, May 1 1988: Senior Aircraftman John D
                           Baxter, 21, RAF, killed by IRA car bomb in Nieuw Bergen, Holland. He
                           and two colleagues were returning to their car after an evening at the Bacchus
                           nightclub when the bomb exploded. One of his colleagues died and the other
                           was injured.

                           3. May 1 1988: Senior Aircraftman John Miller Reid, 22, RAF, killed
                           in same incident.

                           4. October 26 1989: Corporal Maheshumer Islania, 34, RAF, killed
                           together with his six-month-old daughter Nivruti Mahesh Islania in an IRA gun
                           attack at Wildenrath in Germany near the Dutch border.
