Protection Act 1998 Statement of Policy
The
Data Protection Act imposes rules and safeguards on those who hold
and process personal data, ie data relating to living identifiable
individuals. Details of usage must be notified to the Information
Commissioner, with some exceptions which include not for profit
organisations whose usage is restricted to specified purposes. PhilipJohnston.com
is exempt from notification but the principles setting out rules
and safeguards apply. In the interests of being open and fair, PhilipJohnston.com
wishes to inform users of the data held and how it is used.
Some
or all of the following data may be held about some or all members
of the been.at/sandhurst
people finder: name, email address, phone and fax numbers, year
of attendance at Sandhurst, military service, current status and
personal website. The data are held in electronic form.
The
data are always obtained directly from an individual person to whom
they relate.
The
data are used for social purposes in order to allow alumni of the
RMA Sandhurst to contact each other by email.
The
personal data will be published exclusively on philipjohnston.com,
also known as been.at/sandhurst. Any additional information held
which is not published on the website will not be made available
to any third party without the express written consent of the individual
concerned.
The
data will not be available for commercial purposes.
Philip Ralph Johnston, July 2002.
