Birmingham
has the largest collection of municipally-owned art in the UK. There
are many smaller, private galleries scattered around the region. Here
are a few of them.

Ikon Gallery
Oozells Street |
A small, private gallery
of ceramics, galss, sculpture and art. My favourite is the torso
of a woman made from fine wire mesh - interesting shadows it throws
too.

Barber
Institute of Fine Arts
University of Birmingham |
The Custard Factory |
Called 'one of the finest small galleries
in Europe'. the Barber has a fine collection to rival the quality
of the National Gallery and the Wallace Collection. It includes works
by Monet, Dega, Renoir, van Gogh, Gaugin, Magritte, Picasso, Rodin
and Degas.
